They raised my payment 600 a month without a viable reason

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
after modifying to a comfortable payment things were good. until one month we got a increase of 600 on the payment. after calling them right away i was told first it was due to taxes increasing. checked. not so. next i was told it was because of flood insurance. yes we are in flood zone but obtained a LOMA to be removed and never to pay expensive insurance. after 3 different "relationship managers" checked and verified everything i said to be true. cco still would not put payment back to contract amount. a contract cco did. they made figures not me. i have thousands of pages to prove all of this.

Threaten to sue them, call your local Attorney General and file a complaint. You will get no where with their customer service as they are a joke. We need a class action law suit against them NOW.

I spent 3 years of my life dealing with these criminals and almost lost my home

Penalties assessed on late payments that were not late

my father who is 84 years old stopped getting mortgage statements from cco mortgage 10 months ago but continued to pay mortgage electronically on first or second of every month, however cco mortgage kept assessing late fees. we have called and now ave a local attorney involved, cco mortgage will not return any ones phone calls or letters. we don't know where this is going, however I am sure CCO Mortgage knows how much can Elderly spend to correct and prove they are flat out defrauding their customers. My Parents have an Interest only loan which has increased by a couple thousand dollars. we are not sure how this company can get away with the math calculations they use.Looking at the reviews of this Mortgage company I hope either our attorney or someone elses attorney will develop a class action suit that all af us who have been defrauded can join in.

They hold up insurance money

horrible mortgage company.... they bought out the mortgage company my parents had a mortgage through, so unfortunately my parents have them now....... back in June, a tree fell on my parents' house and since they still owe CCO some money, they have been holding up money from the insurance company since June and are still making my parents jump through endless hoops so my parents can get what is rightfully theirs - insurance money. They have done nothing but make this reconstruction process more difficult for my parents. My parents actually had to borrow money from their bank to work on the house because CCO was holding up the insurance money. This company totally sucks - do not use them

CCO mortgage has made my life a nightmare

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Had my mortgage through charter one bank and they would go into my account each month for my payment. charter one bank sold to us. And and in June I called to see if I had to do anything and they stated it would be an easy transition and they would not leave me hanging. So imagine my surprise the first week in sept when I received a letter saying my mortgage had not been paid for the past two months. So I spent over a week before I could talk to anyone with authority because they have no supervisors available the best I could get was it was my fault because I did not update my information although at this time I did not know my mortgage was sold to cco mortgage. Us bank said they notified them numerous time and so did charter one of the updated information, So after a week of trying to speak to someone who has a clue what is going on or not going on I was given an apology and told my account would be credited late fees and it was up to me to fix it with the credit bureaus. Which for the next week I have written to the credit bureau and the attorney generals office and every agency I have found to regulate them to look into what is going on. Yesterday although my bank said the check cleared the bank I received a letter from cco mortgage saying my loan is in default and here's a surprise nobody seems to know who the woman from the chairmans office is who called me. So for two days now I have been trying to get someone of authority's to answer there phone and it's been two days now and no one has callled me back yet. It has been a nightmare and I would advise anyone who looking to go thru cco to run as fast as you can in another direction my excellent credit is now screwed up I am trying everything to try to fix this and it's been the most horrible experience and I don't kniw how they get away with this. I have spent the morning writing all the television stations to see what they can do

my escrow keeps going up and up without reason. The city where I live has NOT raised property taxes in 3yrs but in the 2yrs my taxes have gone up. Trying to resolve this with CCO I can only get a recording machine that keeps sending me back to the 'MAIN MENUE' ARGHHHHHHHHH. I guess it is their way of letting you know they only want your money but they don't want to speak to you. I guess I will just have to wait and see if I miss any payments for any one to really talk to me there to get an answer.

Dont miss a payment to try to speak to someone, they don't care about that and it may backfire. File a complaint through the division of banks. Also, it may be that although your town hasn't raised tax rates, your taxes still may have gone up (as well as insurance if you are escrowing that too).

Pay Off balance

I wanted to pay them off in full and was given a real run around. Wanted to give me a pay off balance for the end of the month and it was only the 14th that I called.

I was informed that the outstanding balance is not the pay off balance as their are fees attached for paying them off. My contract states no penalty for a pay off in full. I need government help on this one. I will contact my Congressman and my Senator.

I have never been charged a fee by any other company for paying them off. Normally the pay off balance is less than the amount owed.

I too am trying to pay off my mortgage. I called CCO and got the total payoff amount.

It does include interest (for the time elapsed since they have received your last mortgage payment). It also includes recording fee.)I was told to send the amount to their payoff dept. We sent the payoff check to the address (with our loan number on it). About 3 days later we received a letter from CCO payoff dept.stating how to send the payoff check, which I might add was nothing like the woman on the phone told me.

Matter of fact, according to the letter she wasn't supposed to tell us the payoff amount on the phone. Now I've called CCO p.o.dept. 2x about to make it 3. I dont want to hear " Due to unforseen circumstances we cannot take your call please callback later".

I suppose this is going to be a battle just because I want to pay off my mortgage 3 years early.

Oh, and by the way, it wasn't right to not send us a bill every month because we filed bankruptcy some 15 years ago. And we didn't file on our house.

Guest

Your payoff is (likely) good through the end of the month for one of two reasons: your loan type requires it or their system automatically generates it. Regardless, if you payoff your loan with the stated payoff amount, and interest is only charged through an earlier date, you will be reimbursed for the difference.

Second, the payoff amoutn is always higher than the current balance on a mortgage (unless you are going to net escrows).

Interest is paid for the current month, with the next months payment. So, if you payoff your loan on the 10th, you still owe 10 days of interest. Most counties/areas also have filing fees. If you payoff off the mortgage, you want the mortgage released right?

Well there are applicable fees. These fees cannot be collected at the time of origination, since they change as time progresses.

Please do some reasearch instead of claiming soneone has wronged you.

Regards,

Mortgage Processor

If you have a cco mortgage with an escrow account, do the math yourself. You'll find they use a formula that requires you to keep a balance and call it a "shortage" keeping you in escrow.

In 2 and a half years I have paid $4800 to cover a $3900 deficit in my taxes in 2011. They are insisting I still have a $1900 "shortage" in my taxes. I cant make $4800 = $2000 but they can. I have talked to them on the phone and they cant provide an answer to one simple Question, How does $4800 equal $2000? I was encouraged to file a dispute in writing with the escrow account dept on writing. Do the math and then call them to make them prove it. You will likely find they have taken advantage of you taking money from your pockets.

CCO Mortgage complaint for refinancing

My husband and I are current mortgageholders of CCO Mortgage. They called us and said they could give us a better rate on a refinance with a program they offer to only their current mortgage holders called a strategic refinance. That's for borrowers who are underwater on their mortgage but who pay on time, etc. We wanted a 15 year mortgage and they were going to lower our interest rate quite substantially. September of 2012 we filled out all the paperwork, paid for the appraisal fee and waited...and waited and waited. After being told month after month that we were going to close "this month", we were told that we had to resubmit another application because they had new rules in place and our application had basically sat there for 10 or 11 months in limbo (aka no one's doing anything). In the meantime, we had to have a second appraisal done. We submitted a second application, filled out all the paperwork, sent in paystubs, etc. They demanded right now copies of all deposited checks in our checking account, fronts and back, which cost me $32 to do. They needed our tax transcripts asap and then blamed it on the government shutdown, even though we had signed the papers to allow them to get them at the very beginning. Between all these time we had two more appraisals done. Fast forward to mid December 2013 and we're told we need to submit a third application because the underwriter "ripped our application to shreds." And we have to do it before January 14th because new mortgage rules go into effect on that date. Bottom line, if you have an option for picking a lender for your mortgage, DON'T use CCO Mortgage. They are inept and incompetent. They lie to their mortgageholders. I honestly can't believe they are still in the business of mortgages.

I went through hoops in January 2014 when CCO called Me to say it looked like I could refinance for a much lower rate than the 6+% I was paying.....I submitted all the paperwork which they said was in order. Then it was time for the Appraisal.

$450 cost to me. Appraiser came on a blizzard day - couldn't even walk around the house.

Lowballed the appraisal by $100,000 using comparables from the slum neighborhood in another part of town. I guess they figured "she's paying her exorbitant mortgage, so why would we want to lower the rate?"

I was told CCO would not help because they no longer due business in California .

I called and asked for help with a modification and was told they no longer due business in California. However they have no trouble cashing my check from California. My property is under water and I was able to get my 1st mortgage modification. My 2nd mortgage is with CCO mortgage. I don't understand how they can just say they would not help me because they no longer due business in California. It that even legal? My husband is retiring and we will not have the same income so I am trying to get assistance do we don't end up walking away.

CCO is HORRIBLE!!! DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM EVER!

We have a fixed mortgage with them and every year our monthly payment went way up. About 6 months before we know we were going to have problems paying our mortgage in full, we contacted them and the customer service lady was of NO help and even refused to tell me some information about my own account. We tried signing up for federally backed programs that we qualified for and they refused (8 times now). They even refused to except any payments from us that were not the full amount and then they tried to foreclose on us. In the foreclosure paperwork they had us living completely on the other side of the state from where we actually live. We fought the foreclosure and the Judge even told them to work with us and they still refuse. Their customer service agents are rude, unhelpful and like to hang up on you. The company has no idea about want they are doing. If you have to leave a message, it takes them at least a week to call you back, if they ever do. The company is a complete disaster and they hide fees anywhere and everywhere they possibly can. We are still fighting with them...we will see what happens.

There needs too be a class action law suit filed against this company NOW. I was in re-modification *** for almost 3 years with this company.

My mortgage was sold too them years ago. After everything they denied my re-mod and tried to take my home.

Their customer service is terrible, if you can even call it customer service and what they are doing is criminal.

I have all my paperwork, letters etc and would love too sue them and don't mind being the first person too sign up. Any lawyers out there reading these complaints?

Were the funds going into escrow? Are your property taxes and insurance coming out of escrow? That could be the reason your payments are going up.People do not understand when taxes and insurance go up payments go up.Also if you had an escrow shortage that will also make your payments go up.Ask your mortage company to run an escrow analises for you. Also be nice to them on the phone because if you are rude they will not help you at all.

Whoever made that last comment about escrow going up. Yes I wondered about that too taxes and insurance make payments go up.

However you are probably not dealing with these people or you would understand.

Believe me there is every reason mistrust anything they tell you. Independent attorneys have told me so after looking at the fees they have added to my mortgage that's almost over

CCO payoff letters contain incorrect information

If your loan with CCO was originated prior to 1989 in Upstate NY, then your abstract of title MAY be held by Stewart Title Insurance Company, f/k/a Monroe Title Insurance Corporation. Local offices are listed at their website: www.stewartnewyork.com. If your loan was originated after 1989, you should contact your attorney to begin tracking the location of your abstract. Currently CCO lists: "In order to obtain your abstract of title, if your county requires one, please call Monroe Title Insurance Corporation at ...." Monroe Title Insurance Corporation has not existed for years, and the Rochester Office of Stewart Title does not store abstracts for CCO. It does store some abstracts, but homeowners should contact their attorney that represented them at the time of closing first if they do not know the location of their abstract

CCO IS DESTROYING OUR LIFE

AFTER TWO YEARS WE RECEIVED A LETTER OF APPROVAL (SHORT SALE) FROM BOA AND AFTER ONE MONTH WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR APPROVAL FROM THE SECOND,CCO. THEY KNOW THAT IN ABOUT TEN MORE DAYS THE BOA APPROVAL WILL EXPIRE AND WE WOULD HAVE TO START ALL OVER AGAIN. WE ARE NOW STUCK WITH TWO MORTGAGES AND A BUYER WAITING SINCE JANUARY WITH CASH TO GET IN. WE HAVE SENT THEM EVERY DOCUMENT KNOWN TO MAN AT LEAST 20 TIMES AND THEY STILL CAN'T MAKE A DECISION. YOU CAN'T CONTINUE TO PLAY THIS GAME, JUST MAKE A DECISION, YOU HAVE HAD OVER 2 YEARS TO DECIDE. WHAT MAKES IT EVEN WORSE IS, I CAN'T EVEN CALL ANYONE TO FIND OUT IF THEY WILL HAVE A LETTER OF APPROVAL PRIOR TO THE FIRST EXPIRING. WE JUST HAVE TO SIT AND WAIT TO FIND OUT IF WE ARE GOING TO BE PAYING FOR TWO MORTGAGES FOR ANOTHER MONTH AND HAVE TO START THE PROCESS ALL OVER AGAIN, AND WILL FOR SURE LOSE THE BUYER THAT HAS BEEN WAITING SINCE JANUARY. SHAME ON YOU CCO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ruined my credit over $9.63, won't help correct

Admittedly I made an accounting error submitting my May online payment, sending $770 instead of $780, however I sent the payment in on time. My payments are only $779.63 (I round up my payments) so I was short $9.63. I sent the remaining $9.63 with my June (on time) payment, however CCO Mortgage says that they won't process payments that are not the full amount, so they considered me a non-payment for May- although they happily kept my $770.00. CCO Mortgage reported me to credit agencies as an entirely missed payment, and my credit has taken a nose-dive...all because of a $9.63 accounting error, which I corrected the very next month. CCO Mortgage will not help me correct this at all. This has been a nightmare. I have tried calling their customer service line, talked to Crystal, but got absolutely nowhere. They say they will call back, but never do, and trying to reach someone higher up is near impossible. CCO Mortgage is a cold, uncaring institution that does not look at the individual issues, cannot make decisions rationally, and does not have best interests of its customers in mind. I have been a CCO Mortgage customer for 8 years and have never missed a payment, yet they cannot cut a customer a break for a simple, human $9.63 error. Frustrating beyond belief, as the penalty certainly far outweighs my error.
